Qantas Has Reopened Recruitment for International Cabin Crew

Qantas has once again reopened recruitment for its international Cabin Crew based out of Sydney and Melbourne.  If you’re an Australian citizen or have Australian permanent resident status, this is a fantastic opportunity to join the national flag carrier.  But you’ll have to be quick – applications close on 26th April.

The airline is looking for candidates that can “champion the spirit of Australia.”  You’ll need to be at least 18 years of age and between 163 – 183cm tall (and yes, taller applicants can be just as easily rejected if they don’t fall within the height parameters).

Qantas expects applicants to have at least two years customer service experience in a face to face role and also hold a Senior First Aid Certificate and Responsible Service of Alcohol license.

The airline describes its international team as being “dynamic, professional and passionate about safety.”  They are committed to delivering excellent customer service and a premium experience for guests.

Candidates also need to meet the following requirements:

  • Excellent levels of health and fitness – able to swim at least 50 metres fully clothed.
  • Outstanding communications skills.
  • Culturally aware.
  • Flexible and willing to work a 365 day a year roster.
  • At least 12 months validity of your passport with no restrictions.

If you’re friendly, caring and brave with heaps of empathy, a job as Qantas international cabin crew could see you flying to some of the following destinations:

Melbourne: Hong Kong, Singapore, Narita, Los Angeles and Dubai

Sydney: Hong Kong, Singapore, Los Angeles, Dubai, Dallas, Tokyo, Johannesburg, Shanghai, Santiago, Bangkok, Hawaii and San Francisco.

Qantas has reinvented itself in recent years and is now a popular and profitable airline.  Successful applicants will enjoy a remuneration package that is similar to Emirates and generous allowances.  International crew have access to a labour union, approximately six weeks annual year per year and a lavish staff travel package.

However, if you’ve applied for the same role in the past 12 months and weren’t successful you won’t be able to apply on this occasion.
