This is an opportunity that doesn’t come around very often. The Scandinavian airline, SAS is offering aspiring Cabin Crew the opportunity for a career in the skies on a part-time basis. It’s part of the airline’s ‘Resources Pool’ initiative – a flexible contract where you mostly work during busy periods such as the summer holidays, Christmas and at weekends.
SAS is currently accepting applications for this role at its bases in Oslo, Stockholm/Arlanda and Copenhagen. The deadline for applications is the 31st December, but we recommend submitting your application sooner rather than later.
If you fancy a full time job with SAS, there are permanent positions available in London as part of the airline’s new Irish subsidiary. We’ve included more details on this job further down.
For the Resources Pool position, you’ll need to speak at least one Scandinavian language and English fluently. You’ll also need to meet these minimum requirements:
- At least 18 years old
- Successfully completed secondary education
- Between 160cm to 190cm tall
- Excellent eyesight – at least 0.7 without correction
- A confident swimmer
- Physically fit and healthy
You don’t need to have any previous experience as Cabin Crew but you must have at least 2 years experience in the service industry. SAS says it is looking for new crew who are “responsible, responsive and caring.” You’ll also need to work closely as a team towards a common goal and put the customer at the heart of everything you do.
As with all jobs in the aviation industry, you’ll be expected to work irregular hours with short notice changes at all times of day (and night). Excellent punctuality is a must.
If this sounds like the job for you, then SAS is accepting applications via its online recruitment centre now. You can find the link here. Successful candidates will start training from February 2018 – the course is full time and takes 4 weeks although it’s important to note that you won’t be paid during this time.
