Applications Now Being Accepted: Qantas Hiring International Cabin Crew

It’s time to get your CV updated and there’s not a minute to spare – Qantas has just opened up applications for new cabin crew to join its international fleet in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.  But the application window closes on Sunday 31st March so we hope you’re prepared.

As an absolute minimum, you’ll need to be aged at least 18-years old, hold permanent Australian residency or be either an Australian or New Zealand citizen and be 163-183cm in height.  You’ll also need to be in excellent health and fitness and have the ability to swim at least 50 metres fully clothed.

In addition, candidates must hold a Senior First Aid Certificate and Responsible Service of Alcohol ‘Statement of Attainment’.  You must also have a minimum of two years of recent experience in premium customer service.

Applications can be submitted via the official Qantas recruitment website and shortlisted candidates will be required to attend an Assessment Day in one of the three cities where vacancies are open.  Unfortunately, if you’ve applied for any other cabin crew position with Qantas or Jetstar in the last 12-months and weren’t successful, you will not be able to apply on this occasion.

“Our Cabin Crew represent us in the air and deliver best in class service and customer care,” the airline says.

“This is where memories are made. Sporting our iconic uniforms, our cabin crew ensure the safety of our customers whilst making them feel at home, even while they’re thousands of feet in the air.”

Key skills that you’ll need to prove include:

  • Flexibility, dependability and commitment
  • Good judgement, integrity and strong problem-solving skills
  • A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
  • Warmth, empathy, maturity, kindness and compassion

International cabin crew based in Brisbane and Melbourne currently fly to Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Singapore and Tokyo.

The Sydney base has a much larger number of international destinations including Bangkok, Bali, Dallas, Honolulu, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Jakarta, Johannesburg, New York, Manila, Tokyo, Osaka, San Francisco, Santiago, Singapore and Vancouver.
