Despite announcing a Q1 €273 million loss and saying that the pandemic continues to “wreak havoc” on the aviation industry, Ryanair is embarking on a massive cabin crew recruitment spree with openings at bases across Europe including in Ireland, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.
It’s the latest sign that despite a sometimes chaotic vaccine rollout and growing fears from the Delta variant, Europe’s airline industry is slowly starting to recover.
“Throughout the pandemic, Ryanair has worked closely with our people to save jobs and we are delighted to start planning for a return to growth over the coming years as we recover from the Covid-19 crisis,” commented Ryanair’s deputy director of human resources Mark Duffey.
Describing the recruitment campaign as offering “the best cabin crew jobs in aviation”, Duffey said that hard work would be rewarded “with fast track career opportunities” – in this case, this is likely to mean a permanent contract as cabin crew recruited through this campaign will initially be employed by the Crewlink third-party agency.
“Ryanair Cabin Crew enjoy free training, great pay, industry-leading five on, three off rosters, outstanding career development and world-class training,” Duffey continued.
As well as recruiting for Ryanair, applications are also being accepted for roles with other group airlines including Lauda and Buzz. Applications can be submitted on the Crewlink website here.
