Thai Airways flight attendants rushed to close the main cabin door of an Airbus A320 aircraft on a group of passengers at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) after they stormed the jetway in a desperate attempt to get close to a local celebrity who they had tracked down to be a passenger on the plane.
Surveillance video from inside the jetway that was obtained by local media shows a group of flight attendants and ground staff rushing to the airplane door and temporarily closing the cabin door in a desperate attempt to keep the throng of people boarding the plane.
Staff had to close the aircraft door on Thai Airways TG674 at Suvarnabhumi on 29 July to stop 22 Chinese fans chasing a celebrity from boarding without clearance. All 22 denied. Rare to see it reach the jet bridge like that. Prevention needs to start much earlier.

More video from inside the airport terminal showed the chaotic scenes as a large group of fans crowded around the celebrity as they were being escorted to the plane, with security staff and airport workers struggling to hold back the fans.
The incident occurred on July 29, but has since gone viral after the surveillance video footage went viral.
The fans who got on the jetway were, in fact, booked on the same flight as the celebrity, but the disturbance resulted in Thai Airways removing them from the Beijing-bound. The airline cited flight safety as the reason for their removal.
The incident unfolded before the celebrity even got to the boarding gate, with a large throng of fans following him through the airport. When he arrived at the boarding gate, some fans pushed through the podium where boarding passes are checked as airport staff and security guards looked on helplessly.
One staff member managed to shut a security door, but by this point, a group of fans had already pushed their way onto the jetway. Staffers heard the commotion coming towards them and quickly closed the cabin door, even though the boarding process was still very much in progress.
It turns out that 22 of the fans were actually booked on the flight – perhaps for the sole purpose of following the celebrity. Thai Airways decided that it would be safer if they didn’t travel on the flight, leading to a bit of a standoff.
The incident has since caused controversy in China, where the fans were from, because one of the Thai security guards was seen making a discriminatory gesture towards the group. The operator of the airport has been forced to apologize, saying that disciplinary action has been taken against the security guard.
