‘Get Off My Plane’: Southwest Airlines Flight Attendant Loses Patience With Unruly Passenger Who Towers Over Her

A petite Southwest Airlines flight attendant took on a 6’1″ former MMA fighter, shouting, “Get off my plane!” at the well-known American Jiu-Jitsu star, after a confrontation erupted over the placement of hand luggage in the overhead lockers.

The angry passenger, who has now gone viral in videos posted by startled eyewitnesses onboard the plane, has been identified as Aaron ‘Tex’ Johnson, a controversial figure in the sports world known for his fiery temper.

The video of the standoff begins with several flight attendants and passengers shouting “Go!” at Johnson while gesturing for him to exit the plane after he disrupted the boarding process of a recent Southwest flight.

Johnson hangs back, demanding to get his bag while shouting abuse at another passenger. When the passenger snaps back, Johnson launches into a tirade as the much smaller flight attendant gently pushes him towards the exit.

As he gets to the front galley, however, Johnson begins screaming in her face.

The flight attendant is, though, completely unfazed and keeps on pushing Johnson towards the door.

“Not on my flight,” the flight attendant shouts back before delivering the final ultimatum: “Get off my plane!”

Another flight attendant also wades into the melee, demanding that Johnson get off the plane, as other passengers, and even the Captain, look on in stunned silence.

Johnson, however, hangs around at the boarding, screaming back at the flight attendants: “I’m a warrior, I’m a warrior!’ while accusing the flight attendants of assaulting him.

Johnson then starts shouting expletives as passengers demand the police be called to quell the near riotous situation.

After the video of the incident went viral on social media, Johnson posted a cryptic message on his Instagram story, which read: “For anyone trying to drag me down, it doesn’t matter to me, I have the best friends.”

“STOP WORRYING ABOUT WHAT MAY BE PERCEIVED AS RIGHT OR WRONG. IF GOD WANTED US TO LIVE A CERTAIN WAY, HE WOULD HAVE GIVEN US BETTER INSTRUCTIONS. DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY.”

It’s perhaps no surprise that Southwest Airlines has now reportedly barred Johnson from all of its flights.

At the end of May, Southwest ended its much-loved ‘two bags fly free’ policy, which allowed passengers to check in luggage at no additional cost. The change brings the airline in line with nearly every other airline in the United States, but it also means that Southwest is battling the same issues as its rivals.

And that means a scramble for overhead bin space as passengers try to avoid checked luggage fees by bringing as much hand luggage onboard the plane with them as possible.

Unfortunately, that means that fights and disagreements over overhead bin space are an inevitable consequence that flight attendants at the Dallas-based carrier are still coming to terms with.

The video of this incident clearly shows that the plane had much older and smaller overhead bins that only exasperate overhead bin wars, although, thankfully, the airline is installing larger bins on some aircraft.
