Air Canada Introduces The Incredibly Instagrammable Aperol Spritz to its Inflight Drinks Menu Along With Other Trendy Additions

Air Canada is adding Instagram’s favourite alcoholic beverage of the moment – the iconic bright orange Aperol Spritz – to its inflight drinks menu as it seeks to elevate the passenger experience with an expanded in-flight food and beverage range.

The highly photogenic Aperol Spritz isn’t the only trendy addition for Air Canada passengers to pose with on social media, however. The airline is also the first Canadian carrier to introduce a non-dairy milk alternative with the addition of oat milk, along with Blue Moon craft beers, hard seltzer and French Rose wine.

“We’re pleased to offer more food and beverage options across a variety of tastes and preferences including products not available today on any Canadian airline, as we continue improving Air Canada’s overall onboard experience,” commented Air Canada’s managing director of product and services, Jacqueline Harkness.

“We know that a comfortable and enjoyable onboard experience is an important part of our customers’ travel journey,” Harkness continued.

Sadly, the opportunity to get papped with an Aperol Spritz on an Air Canada jet will be restricted to passengers sitting in Signature Class on international flights. The same restriction will also apply to the easily quaffable French Rose from Provence.

Earth’s Own oat milk, however, will become available across Air Canada’s services, while a range of new meal options for Premium Economy and Economy customers on select services include butter chicken with rice pilaf and cauliflower peas masala.

The origin of the Aperol Sprtiz can be traced all the way back to 1919, but it wasn’t until the 1990s that the drink started to become popular and Italy before spreading slowly through Europe.

Of course, it wasn’t until 2019 that the drink truly took on a life of its own and became a global phenonenum. As you might expect, Aperol Spritz is a favourite drink available on Italy’s flag carrier ITA Airways and a number of other airlines, including the likes of Qatar Airways, already offer the drink onboard.
