The rock and country singer Ryan Adams put Delta Air Lines on blast on Wednesday after he was removed from a flight and allegedly threatened with being banned from flying with the carrier ever again.

In an angry Instagram post, the New York, New York, and Come Pick Me Up singer said his “lawyers are thirsty” following the altercation with a Delta flight attendant and gate agent.

According to Adams, a flight attendant initially remonstrated with him because his seat in First Class wasn’t ready for takeoff. What the flight attendant didn’t realize, however, was that the seat was broken and, as Adams pointed out, was held together with duct tape.

When the flight attendant did eventually work out what was going on, Adams says that rather than finding an alternative seat, he ended up being booted off the plane and rebooked on a later flight.

We don’t know exactly what went down next, but according to Adams, he told the gate agent that the situation was “absurd,” and the staffers responded by telling him that he was no longer allowed to fly at all and that his flight was canceled.

Adams clearly had second thoughts about posting details of the incident to his one million followers on his public Instagram profile, but the internet had already taken receipts, with a screenshot of the post quickly shared on Reddit.

A prolific singer and songwriter who has toured the world, Adams once infamously booted an audience member who mixed him up with Bryan Adams and shouted out a request for him to sing Summer of ’69.

Adams stopped his concert, had the house lights brought up, and refused to continue his performance until the man left the venue. Adams later said the real reason he had the man removed was because he was drunk and causing a disturbance.

In 2020, Adams made international headlines when he issued a public apology for mistreating people in his life and career. The apology was published a year after Adams faced allegations of sexual harassment following an investigation by the New York Times.
