The bonus you could earn is based on the number of points purchased, with the best deal being a 60% bonus when you purchase 40,000 or more points.
What’s the Deal?
From May 19 to June 10, 2023, Free Spirit members can take advantage of Spirit Airlines’ point purchase promotion. The bonus structure is as follows:
- Buy 4,000-12,000 points and get a 20% bonus.
- Buy 13,000-30,000 points: and get a 40% bonus.
- Best Deal: Buy 40,000+ points and get a 60% bonus
The bonus points earned during this promotion can be used towards all Free Spirit rewards, so if you’re on the brink of a redemption or already have some points in the bank but need some extra for some upcoming travel, then this could present a great opportunity to improve your points balance.
Is buying points worth it?
This really depends on whether you actually plan to use these points, although I normally say that buying points isn’t advisable unless you are nearing a redemption goal and need a small boost to reach it.
That being said, bonus promotions such as this one can present a strategic move to maximize the value of your rewards. The bonus on point purchases allows you to stretch your dollars further, making otherwise unattainable reward flights within reach.
